Potential Role of Sequential Solid-State and Submerged-Liquid Fermentations in a Circular Bioeconomy

چکیده
An efficient processing of organic solid residues will be pivotal in the development circular bioeconomy. Due to their composition, such comprise a great biochemical conversion potential through fermentations. Generally, carbohydrates and proteins present wastes cannot directly metabolized by microorganisms. Thus, before fermentation, enzymes are used hydrolysis step release digestible sugars nitrogen. Although can efficiently produced from solid-state fermentations (SsF), challenges scale-up SsF technologies, especially bioreactors, have hindered wider application systems. Therefore, most commercial submerged-liquid (SmF) expensive simple sugars. Instead independently evaluating SmF, review covers option combining them sequential process which, firstly then for hydrolysis, yielding suitable medium SmF. The article reviews experimental work that has demonstrated feasibility underlines benefits combination has. Finally, discussion is included which highlights that, unlike typically perceived, should not considered counterpart SmF but, contrast, main advantages each type fermentation accentuated synergistic SsF-SmF.

متن کاملPectin Esterase Production from Apple Pomace in Solid-State and Submerged Fermentations
Comparison of the production of pectin methylesterase (PME) by Aspergillus niger from apple pomace in solid-state (SSF) and submerged fermentation (SmF) was made for higher PME production. pH value of 4.0, incubation temperature of 25 °C and incubation period of 96 h were found optimum in both SSF and SmF, while optimum dilution levels were 1:3 and 1:6, respectively. Ammonium sulphate in SSF an...
متن کاملMedicinal Mushrooms Cultivation through the Solid-state and Submerged Fermentations of Agricultural Wastes
The main aim of this work consists in screening the optimal biotechnology of medicinal mushroom cultivation from the solid-state fermentation and the submerged one by using different kinds of wastes coming from cereal crop processing as well as the agro-food industry. The both fermentation technologies were tested through the controlled cultivation of the medicinal mushrooms Ganoderma lucidum a...
متن کاملProduction of a Solvent, Detergent, and Thermotolerant Lipase by a Newly Isolated Acinetobacter sp. in Submerged and Solid-State Fermentations
The lipase production ability of a newly isolated Acinetobacter sp. in submerged (SmF) and solid-state (SSF) fermentations was evaluated. The results demonstrated this strain as one of the rare bacterium, which is able to grow and produce lipase in SSF even more than SmF. Coconut oil cake as a cheap agroindustrial residue was employed as the solid substrate. The lipase production was optimized ...
متن کاملrole of cultural iran in promotion of multilaieralism in central asia and caucasus
cultural iran is a scope that is more extended than the political territories of iran as a political unit. this concept means that cultural geography(mehdi moghanlo-1383-1) of iran is greater than its political geography which, according to history, has a long history extending west-east from kandahar to the euphrates and north-south from the persian gulf to the caucasus including transoxiana a...
